An almost perfect Tuesday

So I took yesterday off because the Rockies were having a day/night doubleheader, I haven't been to one of these in probably 4-5 years and I forgot how much fun they are!!
George and I went to the first game (rockies won 3-1) The attendance was announced at 25,000 which seemed more like 8,000 who were actually there. We were able to sneak down to the front row and the game was great, no foul balls were within range for us to snag :-(

After the first game we went to the sports column, had some food and $2 drafts, then met up with dan, his co-worker, stacy and bo. We snuck down again to the front row and were sitting with stacy and bo. During the bottom of the 2nd inning Atkins was at the plate and hit one that was about 2 inches foul and it bounced off the ground, I stuck my glove out and sure enough snagged it!! :-) that was the 13th ball I've got during my life from Rockies games. Just after that the person who had the seats kicked us out (with some attitude since I showed him a ball I got) and we went up and sat with dan and his friend. The rockies won it 9-8 with a 2-run HR from Todd Helton in the bottom of the 9th.

It was probably the most dramatic ending I've ever been to at Coors Field, the only one that's close was the 1995 game against the Giants where we clinched the wildcard. All in all this day was pretty much perfect, the only thing missing was my baby :-) So if you ever have a chance to go to a day/night doubleheader take it!!!

Out of shape!!!!!!!!!!!

So our fall.winter hockey season started tonight, I haven't worked out at all since running the stairs at red rocks 2 weeks ago and boy am I out of shape!!!!

We got our butts kicked 6-0 tonight, but played a much better game than the score indicated. We only had 2 lines and 4 D and 1 extra wing, you could definitely tell that we were a bit rusty, but we'll be only improving from here on out.

I got my first penalty ever (2:00 for tripping) which was a very crappy call, i tried to knock the puck away from a guy, tapped his skate and he flopped down. I also on the first shift got blindsided for the first time, it didn't hurt a bit which was good. I almost scored too!!!! Megan and I were on a break I passed to her she dropped it off to me, I let it rip and the goalie made a great save, oh well, I will definitely score a few this season!!

For the first time we didn't have a cheering section at all, the other team had probably 10-15 people there for them, oh well, it was probably better that no one saw what happened tonight :-)

I need to get my @$$ into shape and fast!!! I was never sore or tired after a game last season, but I was hella sore tonight, so I'm going to be cutting back on drinking, eating healthier and getting back into working out 3-4 days a week!!!

Last night Daria Liz and I went to see Once http://imdb.com/title/tt0907657/

It was a really good "musical". The story was good, acting was good, and the music was GREAT!!!! I went and picked up the soundtrack for it today, and it has made me want to get back into playing my guitar!!! So i will be playing it 2-3 times a week and hopefully taking lessons or a class in the upcoming future, hopefully soon I'll be writing songs :-)
