Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!!!!!

So I just got back from Chincillas where I have spent the past couple of days having a BLAST enjoying our snow days together!! I woke up at her place Wednesday morning and made the 45 minute in the snow drive to work only to get there and find out that they closed the office!! So I hung around for an hour or so surfing the web and such. Headed home and stopped by the store to pick up the ingredients for the kick ass chicken chili that we made last night. Drove over to Chinchilla's we hung out for a bit, she made her chili (which is awesome) then we headed over to a Christmas party with her roomie and some of her friends. We decided to walk to the party instead of driving through the foot and a half of snow that we had at that point. Had a lot of drinks, & food, played some games, did some dancing, had a great time at the party. Then we got tired and walked back. Chinchilla left her gloves upstairs so I gave her mine and we proceeded to make the trek back to her house. It was a struggle but we made it back safe and sound.

Yesterday we woke up and I made her breakfast (turkey sausage, eggs, hash browns, toast and she made waffles!!) it was so gooooooood!! Sat down on the couch she passed out and napped for a couple of hours, wish I would've done the same. After that went to Gov's park with Bish thinking we'd be the only people there to do some sledding, boy were we wrong!! There was probably 30-40 people there easily, they had snowboard trails setup with jumps and everything. When we got there I got really tired for some reason (wish i would've napped) Chinchilla went down a lot and I played with the dogs mostly. She thought I wasn't having any fun (which i was but I was so tired that I only went down on her board once) We headed back and I grabbed the shovel and proceeded to dig out her car. Just about an hour later I was done, her car was good as new and we finished making the chili. The chili kicked ass, we'll definitely have to make it again, then went to bed at a reasonable time. Had a talk for a bit before falling off to sleep.

Got up this morning, after she left and dug out my car, cleaned her kitchen (even cleaned the floor!) took Bish out in the back alley for a 15 minute snow playing session, went to safeway got a few things and watched PIR!!!! Took me about 45 minutes to get home only to find out that I had more shoveling to do, cleaned off the street in front of the driveway so I could park.

All in all it was a great couple of snow days, we even had our first tiff this "weekend" and made it through it. I am so lucky to have Chinchilla in my life, she's amazing!!!!!

Heros & Heroines

So I got home from the Avs game tonight and was flipping through the channels and came upon discovery news and caught the end of Flight 93, the flight that fought back.

I watched the last 45 minutes of the program and was balling my eyes out, I haven't cried like this since my mom passed. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to know that you're going to die and to actually fight back against the poeple that were trying to harm our country and our way of life. Evey single person who was on that flight was a hero or heroine, they made the ultimate sacrifice so that others would be able to continue living their lives the way that we have been living them for so long. I don't think that we take the time often enough to realize how much we owe to so many people who have made the same sacrifice so that we can have the lives and freedom that we have. I am so grateful for everyone who has given their life in the name of freedom, I wish that there was something that I could do to honor what they have done for all of us. In watching the movie (which i thought was very well done) they had interviews with the family's of the people who were on that flight and all of them were so happy that their loved ones didn't just stand there and let the terrorists do what they intended to do, they fought and did what they could do so that no one else would get hurt.

While watching this I got to thinking about what I would've done if I was on this flight. I would like to think that I would've been up there fighting the terrosits and doing whatever I could do to prevent them from doing what they intended to do. I also got to thinking about the people who were on the flight and knew that they were not going to make it so they called their loved ones and let them know how much they meant to them and how much they loved them, it made me realize that I need to make sure and tell all the people in my life who are important to me that I love them and that I'm so glad to have them in my life, I definitely don't do it enough. So to all of you out there who are in my life, even if just for a brief moment please know that I would not be the man that I am today without you and that I love you for everything that you have shown me, given me & taught me, thank you, and thank you to everyone who has made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us, we wouldn't be where we are today without you.
